w00t: Word of the year?

Merriam-Webster Dictionary has named "w00t" as word of the year. W00t is a cyber-slang word that replaces letters with numbers because it makes it easier to text message “w-0-0-t” than “w-o-o-t.” The word means "yay" and is typically used among online gamers.

Our society is losing it. How stupid can we get? Choosing "w00t" as Word of the Year just shows how technology has affected the competence of millions, and is turning it into incompetence.

What do you think about the word "w00t"?

So apparently, texting has become more “efficient” than actual verbal conversation. I bet in 50 years, humans will lose all abilities to talk with their mouths, and will only be able to communicate with their fingers. Progress!

I think it's cool. It goes to show that the old people must get hip or get hit... by hovercars.
